Abstract

|
Biomarkers of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis have been focused on rapid diagnosing, monitoring disease progression and understanding the pathophysiology of this devastating disease. Final goal of biomarkers of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is to develop the therapeutic options for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Up to the present, biomarkers are investigated in 3 fields: protein-based biomarkers, physiological biomarkers and neuroimaging biomarkers. Here, we will shortly describe the process of biomarkers development and their clinical utilities in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
